Our 5‑Step Fence Installation Process

Published December 2025 • 5 minute read

Transparency is a key part of building trust with clients. Here’s a behind‑the‑scenes look at our fence installation process, from the initial consultation through final walk-through. Understanding our workflow shows you what to expect and demonstrates our commitment to quality and safety.

1. Consultation & Site Assessment

Every project begins with a conversation. We listen to your goals and evaluate your property’s layout, soil conditions and topography. We discuss material options, heights, local codes and any HOA requirements. This consultation ensures the design aligns with your budget and vision, we provide this free of charge.

2. Design & Material Selection

After assessing your needs, we create a detailed proposal outlining fence style, materials and pricing. We show samples of wood, vinyl, chain‑link and ornamental metal so you can see and feel the difference. Once you approve the design, we schedule your project.

3. Permits & Utility Locates

As your authorized representative our team handles any necessary permits for your municipality. We also call VA811 to locate underground utilities at least three working days before digging. This step protects utilities and ensures we adhere to state law.

4. Installation Day

On installation day, we mark the fence line, remove obstacles and dig post holes to the proper depth. Posts are set in concrete and allowed to cure. Panels or cross-sections and pickets are then installed, followed by gates and hardware. We take care to keep the job site tidy and minimize disruption to your yard.

5. Final Walkthrough & Maintenance Tips

After installation, we inspect the fence with you to ensure everything meets your expectations. We provide maintenance guidance tailored to your material—such as regular inspections, cleaning, sealing and vegetation trimming. Should you have any issues down the road, our repair team is just a phone call away.
